J.T. Gillespie

Taylorsville, NC – J. T. Gillespie, age 73, passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at Caldwell Hospice in Lenoir, NC. He was born in Tazewell, VA on February 12, 1948 to the late Arthur and Carrie Gillespie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Billy, Roy and Arnold Gillespie; sisters, Pearl Barnett; Janie Sykes and Betty Hubbard. J.T. is survived by his son, David Gillespie of Taylorsville, NC and daughter, Crystal Gillespie of Richlands, VA; brothers, Willard Gillespie of Tazewell, VA;Curtis Gillespie of Yorktown, VA; and sister, Faye Gillespie of Tazewell, VA; special friend, Linda Bradley; and numerous family members. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK, 73123.
