Joyce Ann

Miss. Joyce Ann Cox age 73, of Lenoir, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, December 13, 2013 at the Camelot Manor Nursing Home. Born July 17, 1940 in Washington County, VA, Joyce was a daughter of the late Lawrence A. and Lydia Cox. She was Baptist by faith and loved her Lord. She enjoyed playing Bingo and listening to Gospel Music. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Spencer Cox; two brother in laws, Billy Ray Johnson and Bill D. Hart; and a great nephew, Zachery Johnson. Survivors include two sisters, Judy Johnson and Lola Farthing, husband John; a brother, Rondy Cox; nephews, Marty Hart, wife Donna, Stacy Cox, wife Carrie, Jeffrey Johnson, and Shaun Cox; nieces, Karen Warren, husband Scott, Tracy Burchette, husband Jeff, Teri Pope, husband Jeff, and Betsy Johnson; great nephews, Dustin Warren, wife Shaina, Matthew Cox, wife Amber, Brandon Burchette, Mark Cox and Tucker Johnson; great nieces, Sydney Johnson, Peyton Johnson, Rachel Hart and Cheyenne Johnson; great great nephews, Parker Cox and Jackson Warren. A graveside celebration of Joyce’s life will be held on Monday, December 16, 2013 at 12:00 PM in the Rosedale Baptist Church Cemetery in Abingdon, VA. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliaitive Care at 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
