Josephine Clarke Chester

Lenoir, NC – Mrs. Josephine Clarke Chester, age 83, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 24, 2013 at Caldwell Hospice. She was born in Caldwell County on December 7, 1929 to the late Wilson Clarke and Margaret Martin Brown. She was married to Howard Chester of Lenoir for 64 years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Chester; sister, Mary Edmisten; and brother, George Brown. Other than her husband, she is survived by her children, Halla Dean Wilson and husband Ron; Steve Chester and wife, Wanda; Karen Smith and husband Ron; Teresa Chester; Sharon Thompson; and Abby Street; brothers, Steve Brown and Ronald Brown; sisters, Linda Jones and Margaret Brown ; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. A memorial service for Mrs. Chester will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at 3:00 PM with Pastor John Pritchard officiating.
