Granite Falls, NC-Mr. Joseph “Dale” Bryant, age 74, of Granite Falls, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2016 at Caldwell Hospice in Hudson. Born February 7, 1942 in Caldwell County, Dale was a son of the late Joseph and Lillie Borders Bryant. Dale had worked in the furniture industry and was a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed camping at Orchard Park and loved gardening. He will be remembered as an avid sports fan and a man who enjoyed life. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Douglas Bryant. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Broyhill Bryant of the home; his children, Anita Bryant Parton (husband Larry) of Hudson, Anissa Dawn Hayes (husband Nick) of Rutherford College, and Brian Wear of Charlotte; a brother, Lloyd Dennis Bryant (wife Betty) of Johnson City, TN; five grandchildren, Alicia Helton, Michael Helton, Amanda Parton, Tyler Brewer and Amber Brewer; two great grandchildren, PJ Evans and Josie Brewer. A celebration of Dale’s life will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Jeff Carpenter and Charlie Brooks officiating. Interment will follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park with full Military Honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 10 AM to 11 AM.
