Jordie Cannon

Jordie E. Cannon, age 39, went home to be with his heavenly Father on Thursday, September 21. 2023 at Atrium Health in Charlotte. He was born in Burke County on August 23, 1984 to Alisa Brewer East and Ivey Cannon. Jordie was married to Casey Davis Cannon, who was the love of his life for 21 years. He loved the outdoors and spent an enormous amount of time with his children, Salem and Jasper, teaching them to hunt and fish. Jordie was passionate about everything, whether it was teaching, coaching baseball, fishing, being in a tree stand or his love of antiques.

In addition to his parents and children, he is survived by his step-father, Scott East; brothers, Justin Cannon and wife, Amber; Zachary East and wife, Marissa; nieces, Mackenzie and Adley Cannon; mother-in-law, Julia McKinney; and numerous other family members and friends.

A celebration of Jordie’s life will be held at Day 3 Church on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at 3:30 PM with Pastor Lynn Parsons officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:30 prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Jordie Care Fund, State Employees’ Credit Union, at your local branch.
