Joncie Nichols Swearengin

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Joncie Nichols Swearengin, age 94, of Lenoir, died Monday, November 5, 2007 at Lenoir Health Care. Born January 23, 1913 in Caldwell County, Mrs. Swearengin was a daughter of the late Lennie and Henrietta Curtis Nichols and the wife of the late Wallace Brown Swearengin. Mrs. Swearengin was a member of Miller Hill Baptist Church and had retired from the Whitnel Elementary School Cafeteria. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Faye McGhinnis and husband Jack of Lenoir; her son, Jarrett Swearengin of Lenoir; three brothers, Lennie ?Eddie? Nichols and wife Mary Belle of Lenoir; George Nichols and wife Beulah of Lenoir; Clarence Nichols and wife Lena of Granite Falls, 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Other than her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 2 sons, Coy and Hoy Swearengin; 2 daughters, Rosalie Martin and Doris Tramble and one brother, Richard Nichols. Graveside services for Mrs. Swearengin will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at Blue Ridge Memorial Park, with Reverend Steven Walsh officiating. The family will be gathering at the home of Faye and Jack McGhinnis, 1212 Cottrell Hill Road, Lenoir.
