Jonathon Irineo Betancourt, age 24, is now asleep in the arms of Jesus. He was born in Catawba County on June 29, 1998 to Irineo Betancourt and Brenda Bowlin Carle.
Jonathon was a beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, grandson, and cousin. He was loved and cherished by everyone that knew him, he was a devoted Seventh Day Adventist Christian with an undeniable love for Christ.
Jonathon was a fan of NASCAR and the Carolina Panthers football team. He loved to fish, especially deep sea fishing, he also enjoyed DJing at Myra’s for their weekly car shows. He would always help anyone in need and never asked for anything in return. He was always telling everyone about Jesus, he wanted more than anything to see us all in heaven. He will be missed by everyone that knew him.
Jonathon is survived by mother Brenda Carle; step-father Richard Carle; grandmother, Betty Bowlin; father Irineo Betancourt; twin sister, Jessica Betancourt and fiancé Nolan Sheldon; niece, Rose Sheldon; and brothers Matthew Bowlin; Brandon Detter and his fiancée, Holly Cooke, their daughter Marley Fiore, and unborn son; as well as uncles Ronald Pritchard, Dennis Pritchard, Terry Pritchard, and Kenneth Pritchard; aunts, Lisa Pritchard, Mary Pritchard, Anita Pritchard, Margaret Pritchard, and Teresa Perkins. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of Jonathon’s life will be held at Lenoir Seventh Day Adventist Church on Friday, February 24, 2023 at 1:30 PM with Pastor Jeff Wait officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:30 prior to the service.
