Jon Richard Nelson

Jon Richard Nelson, age 62, passed away from heart failure at home on March 18, 2021. He was born on November 25, 1958 to Clyde Houston Nelson and Mary Alice Ball Nelson Jon was preceded in death by his parents. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Donna S Nelson, brothers Alan Nelson and family, Mike Nelson and family, as well as 3 nieces and 8 nephews, 8 great nieces, and 8 great nephews. Jon owned with his wife Jon Nelson’s 321 Nursery, Highway 321, Lenoir. Jon was an avid outdoorsman, a dedicated Christian, who celebrated his relationship with the Lord, through his spiritual birth from February 22, 1986 till his crossing over. Jon served the Lord as a member of New Hope Baptist Church, 3383 Gaither Walker Circle, Lenoir, NC, Pastor Joe Angle. A receiving of friends and family will be held on Saturday, March 27, from 5pm- 7:30pm at New Hope Baptist Church. A celebration of his life will be held at New Hope Baptist Church on Sunday, March 28, at 2:00pm. Pallbearers: Andrew Jennings, JR Todd, Sawyer Nelson, Darrell Shatley, Refugio Aguilar, Jesus Vasquez, Honorary Pallbearers: Martin Cotto, Tyler Nelson, Grant Nelson, Chad Nelson, Joey Beaver, Bob Gragg, Dr Mark Guerra. The family respectfully requests in lieu of flowers that memorials be sent to New Hope Baptist Church.
