Johnny "John" Mack Creech

Johnny “John” Mack Creech, 62, of Granite Falls, went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Friday, October 11, 2024.

John was born on March 28, 1962, to the late Donnie Creech and Barbara Ann Barnette.

In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his sister, Cecelia Bryson.

Those left to cherish John’s memory are his wife of 34 years, Dretha Creech; daughters, Johnna Minton (Richard), Amber Faulkner (Shey); grandchildren; Hunter, Mason, Graham, Bentley, Kensington, and Aubree; brother, Terry Creech; aunt, Reecie Born, and numerous other relatives.

John was born in Los Angeles and grew up in Harland County Kentucky.  He moved to North Carolina in 1982 where he met the love of his life on a blind date.  John and Dretha were married in 1989, and had two wonderful daughters that were the light of his life until the grandkids made their arrival and stole the show.

John loved preaching the word of God.  He was a wonderful husband, daddy, and pawpaw.  He loved to teach his grandbabies to fish, play basketball, football, and above all to have faith in the Lord.  To many, he was a serious man, but those close to him, seen a loving, carefree, and funny man.  John was a hard worker who tried his best to “fix it all” himself.  Words cannot begin to express how great of a daddy he was.  His family was most important to him and he took care of them.  Most of the best memories were spent on the banks at the lake fishing for anything that would bite including sticks.  John was a very significant part of many people’s lives and he will be deeply missed.

The family respectfully requests, in lieu of flowers, any donations be made to John’s family.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at Evans Funeral Service from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at Evans Funeral Service at 1:00 PM with Pastor David Brown officiating.
