Johnny "Doc" Ray Rich

Johnny “Doc” Rich, 60, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2024.

Doc was born on January 15, 1964, to the late Leonard and Rose Rich.

In addition to his parents, Doc is preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Rich, Frank Coffey, Vadis Price and sister, Betty Sharpe.

Those left to cherish Doc’s memory are his former wife and friend, Mary Davis; children, Nicole Way (Charles), John Rich, and Tiffany Rich (Dakota); grandchildren, Colton, Oakleigh, Dakota Jr., and one waiting for arrival soon; brothers, Gaither, Leonard Jr, Paul; sisters, Shirley, Mary Ann, Francis, Roberta, Martha, and numerous other relatives.

Doc worked with the Town of Blowing Rock for 30 years. He loved his family immensely and loved his fur babies. Doc never met a stranger.  He was always there to help anyone.  Doc was a kind, simple, and humble man.  He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family will hold a gathering to celebrate Doc’s life on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at First Independent Baptist, 601 Possum Hollow Road Blowing Rock, NC 28605 from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM with Gary Shew officiating.
