John Pritchard

Mr. John Wilburn Pritchard, 88, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 10, 2017 at Carolina’s Medical Center. He was born in Caldwell County on September 26, 1928 to the late Arthur W. Pritchard and Ethel Poarch Pritchard. Mr. Pritchard is survived by his wife of more than 65 years, Magdalene Griffin Pritchard. Mr. Pritchard loved Jesus, loved his wife, loved his children, loved his grandchildren, and loved his great-grandchildren. He was a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired from Century Furniture and was a member at Yadkin Valley Baptist for 30 years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Marvin Pritchard and his sister, Joyce Canipe. Other than his wife, he is survived by his children, Bobby Pritchard and wife, Linda; Darrell Pritchard and wife, Melany; Terressa Saunders; and John Pritchard and wife, Lisa; brother, Charlie Pritchard and wife, Evelyna; Barbara Blevins and husband, Marshall; sister-in-law, Carol Pritchard; grandchildren, Jason Pritchard and wife, Holly; Jonathan Pritchard; Abram Pritchard and wife, Donna; Brandon Pritchard and wife, Jenna; Bradley Saunders and wife, Courtney; Tyler Pritchard and wife, Lindsay; Lindsay Pritchard; Erin Snider; Lilly Snider; great-grandchildren, Nick Pritchard; Jack Pritchard; Elizabeth Pritchard; Cade Pritchard; Expecting another grandson Pritchard; and Charlee Rose; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Mr. Pritchard’s life will at Yadkin Valley Baptist Church on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Bobby Pritchard officiating. Interment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Pritchard’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Yadkin Valley Baptist Church on Monday, February 13, 2017 from 7:00 until 8:30 PM.
