John Carroll Miller

February 27, 1957 — April 29, 2022

John Carroll Miller was born February 27, 1957 to Carroll William Miller and Marie Beach Miller. He passed away peacefully at 65 years old on April 29, 2022 after an intense fight with liver cancer. John’s determination and love for his family was as apparent during his fight as it was throughout his life, even teaching his son and daughter-in law how to Shag dance while bound to his chair—he was determined to keep making happy memories. He dedicated his life to helping others and in giving his son as many opportunities and tools to succeed as possible. This is clear from the families he created through his work community at Blue Ridge Energies and his church family at St. John’s. He has always been a man who has had a tough hard working side, a soft side, and a passion for learning and doing for others, and was loved by so many. He is survived by his son Joshua David Miller, his sisters, Jane Louise Miller and Frances Marie Miller, his father-in law Nathan Beane, his brother-in law Larry Beane and his wife Tammy and his daughter-in law Haylea Emma Salamon. In death he is reunited with his wife Fairy Beane Miller, along with his parents. Both John and Fairy were taken from this world at a young age, and it seems to be because they did a lifetime of good deeds and parenting in a very short time, and so God said “You have done well, your job here is done, you can come home and rest.” A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00PM at St. John’s Lutheran Church at 1781 Taylorsville Rd SE, Lenoir on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 with Pastor David Mielke officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 3:00PM to 4:00PM. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.evansfuneralservice.com. Evans Funeral Service is honored to serve the family of Mr. John Carroll Miller.
