John Jonas Keller

Lenoir, NC – John Jonas Keller, age 80, passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care. He was born in Caldwell County on June 25, 1931 to the late Wilson W. Keller and Evie Robbins Keller and was married to the late Faye Coffey Keller. Mr. Keller was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He served in the Berlin Airlift and provided intelligence during the Cold War. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Keller; granddaughter, Ginger Webb; and grandson, Caleb Webb. He is survived by his step-son, Johnny Williams of Granite Falls; sister, Peggy Suddreth of Lenoir; sister, Norma Barringer of Sutter, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Mr. Keller’s life will take place graveside at Dry Ponds Baptist Church Cemetery on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at 5:00 PM with Dr. Rick Crouse and Reverend Robert Livingston officiating. Military honors will be presented. The family respectfully requests that memorials be made to: Dry Ponds Baptist Church for the purpose of maintaining the cemetery.
