John Henry Huffman

Hudson, NC- Mr. John Henry Huffman, age 81, of Hickory Nut Ridge Road, beloved husband and father, went to be with his Heavenly Father Saturday, October 28, 2006. Born May 19, 1925 in Burke County, Mr. Huffman was a son of the late Hayes and Ida Burns Huffman and the husband of Mrs. Grace Griffin Huffman of the home. Mr. Huffman was an active member of Church on the Rock in Sawmills and was retired from Shuford Mills and the Town of Granite Falls. Other than his wife, he is survived by 2 daughters, Darlene Hartley and husband Walter of Granite Falls; Tina Stout and husband David of Hudson; two sons, Lewis Huffman and wife Linda and John R. Huffman all of Lenoir; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Logan Huffman, 4 brothers and 5 sisters. A celebration of Mr. Huffman?s life will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at Church on the Rock in Sawmills with Pastor Kenny Duke, Reverend Roger Parker and Reverend Bobby Pritchard officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 PM Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at Church on the Rock. Memorials may be made to Church on the Rock Building Fund, 2690 Villa Woods, Granite Falls, NC 28630.
