John Lewis Holden

Lenoir, NC- Mr. John Lewis Holden, age 73, of Lenoir, died Saturday, June 2, 2007 at his home. Born March 24, 1934 in Lenoir, Mr. Holden was a son of the late John Winfred and Beatrice Savannah Rader Holden and the husband of Cora Belle Lee Holden of the home. He was an antique collector of tractors and engines, a mechanic and a grading worker. He had served in the U.S. Air Force in the Korean War. Surviving other than his wife are 4 daughters, Jerilyn Louise Bush Schoggen of Sterling, VA; Karen Adele Bush Barnes of Mobile, AL; Paula Ann Henry and Annette Luskin, both of Baltimore, MD; two sons, David Lynn Holden and Christopher Allen Holden, both of Lenoir; one sister, Frances Holden Setzer of Manns Harbor, NC; one nephew, Daniel (Boone) Pope of Lenoir; 5 grandchildren; Keri and Katherine Schoggen; Daniel Setzer, Heather Alvarez and Madison Luskin; and 4 great-grandchildren, Christian, Joseph and Jonathan (Jack) Nicholas and Carlito Alvarez. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandchild, Renee Nicholas. No services are planned. The family will receive friends at their residence on Sunday afternoon.
