John Bernard Hamlet

Granite Falls, NC- Mr. John Bernard Hamlet, age 85, of Granite Falls, passed away on May 17, 2012 at his home. Born November 29, 1926, John was a son of the late Edward Dillard and Zora Easter Ford Hamlet. John was a truck driver for over 40 years and enjoyed watching T.V., and also spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Aline Hamlet; one brother; four sisters; and two grandsons, Terry Lee Wilcox and Jerry Alan Wilcox. Survivors include a daughter, Louise Hamlet of Granite Falls; two sons and a daughter in law, Dean Hamlet of Spruce Pine, and James and Sabrina Hamlet of Granite Falls; three sisters, Eula Young, Kathy Steele and Ellen Hartley; he is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, and numerous other relatives. A private memorial service will be held for John on Wednesday, May 23, 2012. Interment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Blowing Rock.
