John Curtis Deitz

John Deitz Granite Falls - John Curtis Deitz Jr. passed away at the age of 79 on March 29, 2015 at Burke Hospice and Palliative Care in Valdese, NC. He was born in Caldwell County on October 18, 1935 to the late John Curtis Deitz Sr. and Bernice Carlton Deitz. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother Gary Deitz and sister Barbara Deitz Lackey. John worked for many years at Bush Olds in Lenoir where he retired.He was an honorary member of the North Carolina Sheriffs' Association. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Alice Beck Deitz of the home; two sons Terry Lynn Deitz and wife Nikki of Landis, NC, and Howard Lynn Deitz and wife Robin of Morganton, NC; one sister Sarah Raphael of Surfside, SC; three brothers Eddie Deitz and wife Carolyn of Hudson, Roger Deitz and wife Vicky of Montana, and Frank Deitz of California; and six grandchildren, Caleb, Katlyn, Matthew, Andrew, Abigail, and Jeremiah and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends and family Tuesday, March 31, 2015 from 6:00 until 7:30 Pm in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service. Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 11:00 AM with Terry Deitz and Dustin Carr officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
