John Branch

John Branch Jr., age 85, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022 at Amorem.  John was a carpenter who worked in the Caldwell County furniture industry for 40+ years. His love of woodworking was only surpassed by his love for his family and his church family, Resurrection Hope Church.

John proudly served in United States Army in France and Germany during the Korean War. He was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves, the Carolina Panthers, and Nascar. He worked in Caldwell County’s furniture industry as a highly skilled sample maker.  Gardening, fishing, reading, and woodworking were lifelong hobbies for John. John Branch was a loyal, caring, and simple man who was loved by all.

He was born in Burke County on May 15, 1937 to the late John Enoch Branch and Annie Lee Branch. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his siblings, Leola Whisnant, Della Hammond, Louise Hoffman, Siddie Mae Branch, Harold Branch and Adam Branch.

Those left to cherish his memory include his childhood sweetheart and loving wife of 65 years, Barbara Branch. He is also survived by his children Jeff Branch and wife Teresa, Judy Branch, and Regina Branch-Miller; grandchildren Tyler Branch, Brittany Branch and husband Jordan Rankin, Mackenzie South, Cody South and wife Paige, and Courtney Kincaid; 10 precious great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services for John will be held at Evans Funeral Service on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at 2:00pm with Pastor Michael Medlock and Pastor James Rich officiating. Following the service, the family will receive friends from 3:00pm until 4:00pm.

Full Military Honors will be provided by the National Guard and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard.
