Joe Moore

Lenoir, NC – Mr. Joseph “Joe” Hardy Moore, Jr., age 67, of Lenoir, passed away Monday, October 20, 2014 at his home.Born May 10, 1947, in Caldwell County, Joe was the son of the late Joseph Hardy Moore, Sr. and Margaret Austin Moore and the husband of Linda Gentry Moore with whom he shared nearly 48 years of marriage. Joe was retired from Blue Ridge Electric after 37 years of service.He had been a member of Caldwell Friends and those who knew him remember his sense of humor and playing jokes.Joe and his wife Linda spent a lot of their time fishing.Linda praises Joe for being the best husband in the world, a loving father and neighbor. Surviving other than his wife Linda, is his son, Joseph Alan Moore of Lenoir; daughter, Laura Hawkins of Asheville; 4 grandchildren, Samantha Vanoy of GraniteFalls; Dawn Elizabeth Coffey, Holly Coffey Cathey and John Tyler Russell and 2 great-grandchildren, Madelyn Cathey and Knox Grasty.He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Joe’s life will be held 12:00 Noon on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at West Lenoir Baptist Church with Pastor Rick Safriet officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:30 until 12:00 Noon, prior to the service.
