Joann Greene Hood

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. JoAnn Greene Hood, age 68, of Lenoir, died Thursday, October 14, 2010 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital. Born July 12, 1941 in Watauga County, Mrs. Hood was a daughter of the late Rudd and Mae South Greene and the wife of Joe Hood of the home. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother, Harold Greene and one sister Helen Greene Jenkins. Surviving other than her husband, are two daughters, Sandra Hood Miller and husband Larry; Rebecca Hood and James Williams and 1 son, Terry Hood and Sheila Lindsay; two brothers, Worth Greene; Lynn Greene and wife Helen; two sisters, Mary Lee Hood and husband Daniel; Cathy Hood and husband Alfred; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A celebration of Mrs. Hood’s life will be held 2:30 Sunday, October 17, 2010 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Pastor Danny Carr officiating. Burial will follow in the Zionville Baptist Church Cemetery in Zionville, NC. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:30 until 2:30, one hour prior to the service at Evans Funeral Service & Crematory. Pallbearers will be: Chad Barrett, Joseph Miller, David Allen, Joseph Rash and Johnny Hood.
