Joann Wilcox Cornett

JoAnn Cornett age 74 of Hudson N.C. went to her heavenly home on August 24th 2023 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born July 15th 1949 in Watauga County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Faye Wilcox of Hudson North Carolina, a daughter Lisa Faye Cornett, and a sister Susie Wilcox Shoemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Bruce Cornett of Hudson, son Tim Cornett and wife Teresa Cornett of Lenoir. Daughter Crystal Burch and husband Robert Burch of Hudson. Grandchildren Trenton Cornett, Alex Burch and wife Abby Burch, Caroline Burch. Her sister Mary Wilcox Helton and husband Steve Helton of Pigeon Forge TN.

JoAnn was a dedicated member of Living Hope Church of Lenoir and faithfully attended Word in Truth Ministries. She was a hairdresser for over 49 years in addition to working at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care for 21 years. She continued to volunteer and serve Hospice after retirement.

A celebration of life will be held at Living Hope Church of Lenoir on Sunday August 27th at 3:00 PM.

The family will receive friends and family from 2:00-3:00 PM.

Ministers officiating will be Rev. Keith Gilliam, Rev. David Crisp, and Rev. Bill Bentley.

Pallbearers will be Alex Burch, Robert Burch, Trenton Cornett, Alan Miller, Steve Helton and Toby Miller.

Graveside will follow afterwards at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens Lenoir NC.
