On November 24, 2019 Joan Carolyn Casey Knox graduated from this life to be with our Lord and Savior forever and ever.Known to many as the Sourdough Bread Lady, her love, kindness, and willingness to help others will be remembered and missed.She attended Setzer Creek Baptist Church of Patterson where she loved and was loved by everyone.Along with her husband James Henry Knox and granddaughter Ashley Wilkerson East, she owned and operated Joan’s Sourdough Bakery in Lenoir, NC. Born December 7, 1947 to Roland A. Casey, Jr. and Laura Martina Dunn in Ayden, Pitt County, NC.In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Roland Edward Casey and sister, Faye Casey Williams. Survivors include her husband of 38 years, James Henry Knox of the home; daughter, Tina Scott Price and husband David Price of Tarboro, NC; granddaughter, Ashley Wilkerson East and husband Chad East of Boomer, NC; sister Peggy Casey Wooten and husband George Wooten of Happy Valley/Crisp, NC. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Setzer Creek Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Daniel Trantham.Interment will follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
