Joan Houk

Mrs. Joan Triplett Houk, age 91 of Hudson, passed away at her home on Tuesday, March 7, 2023.

Born October 5, 1931 in Caldwell County, Joan was a daughter of the late Charles Monroe and Ida Louise Greene Triplett.  Joan was a member of Miller Hill Baptist Church.  She will be remembered as a great mom and for the love she showed her family.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Camuel “Cam” A. Houk; a daughter, Robin Houk; and her siblings, Bill Triplett, Ruth Daye, Judy Farmer and Doug Triplett.

Survivors include her children, C.A. “Butch” Houk (wife Regina), Susan H. Simmons (husband Barry); a sister, Sue Smith; Three grandchildren, John Houk, Kyle Houk and Alex Simmons; and one great grandchild, Aubrey Houk.  She is also survived by numerous other relatives.

A graveside celebration of Joan’s life will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 2:00 PM, at Blue Ridge Memorial Park with Reverend Steve Parker officiating.

Joan will lie in state at Evans Funeral Service on Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
