Lenoir, NC- Jewette Price Weber, 97, slipped away peacefully March 10, 2011 to join her husband, Shelby. She was preceded in death by her husband, Shelby D. Weber, father, John Marvin Price, mother, Clara Drake Price, brother, Thomas Griffin Price and grandson, Gregory Weber Pearson. She is survived by her only child, Mignonne Weber Pearson, two grandsons, Ian Weber Pearson and Mitchell L. Pearson, Jr. and wife Shannon, a niece, Sally Price Bethea and husband Basil and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Receiving her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Alabama, she taught 4th grade in Chattanooga. Her last posting was John A. Patton School through the WWII years until 1961 when she moved to Lenoir, NC with Shelby while he created NU-WOODS and she settled in to a new life creating a home. They were members of First Presbyterian Church and Cedar Rock Golf and Country Club of Lenoir and the Sombrero Golf and Country Club and the Yacht Club of Marathon, Florida. She took joy in her bridge group but more in the Cedar Rock Women’s golf Association where she made many friends. “Most of us don’t actually know the person our mothers actually might have been; for me, she was a strong willed, determined woman that I loved.†A celebration of Mrs. Weber’s life will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:30, one hour prior to the service. A graveside service will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 14, 2011 in the Forest Hills Cemetery in Chattanooga, TN. Reverend Rob Hinman will be officiating both services.
