Jewel Amanda Clark Harris

Mrs. Jewel Amanda Clark Harris, age 85, of Granite Falls, passed away on December 19, 2013 at her home. Born August 31, 1928 in Caldwell County, Jewel was a daughter of the late Millard Filmore and Fonnie Carpenter Clark. She was the first female manager of a self service gas station in North Carolina. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Randolph Harris; brothers, Doulas, Dennis, Vernon and Stanley Clark; a sister, Bernice Holobaugh. Survivors include a son, Mark R. Harris, three daughters, Pamela Zepeda, Sandra Mudd and Lee Anne Nicholson; she is also survived by eight grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and numerous other relatives. Services for Mrs. Harris will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Caldwell Hospice & Palliative Care at 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
