Granite Falls, NC – Mrs. Jewel Annas Bean, age 83, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Camelot Manor Nursing Care Facility. Mrs. Bean was born in Caldwell County on May 28, 1927 to the late Elverson Eugene Annas and Lillie Smith Annas. Mrs. Bean was preceded in death by her husbands, Clyde Church and Paul Bean; daughter, Geneva Church; sisters, Nellie Whisnant, Garnell Weaver, Betty Bowman, Hazel Winkler; brothers, James Annas, Edgar Annas, Charlie Annas, Thad Annas, and Grady Annas. She is survived by her son, James (JC) Annas of the home; sister, Melba Shook if Lenoir; granddaughters, Teresa Compton and Wendy Hadschin and husband, Jerry of Granite Falls; 4 great- grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; daughter-in-law, Frances Annas; and special friends, Lela Annas and Edna Bryant. Mrs. Bean has requested that there be no services.
