Jessie Brooks Mcdonald

Lenoir, NC – Mrs. Jessie Lynwood Brooks McDonald, age 91, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 10, 2011 at Gateway Nursing Center. She was born in Franklin, NC on May 30, 1920 to the late Robert L. Brooks and Maggie Sanders Brooks and was married to the late Reverend Bennie McDonald, Jr. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. McDonald was preceded in death by her son, Bennie Junior McDonald, four brothers and one sister. She is survived by her sons and their wives, William Douglas McDonald and Mary Ann, Edward Ross McDonald and Margaret; her daughter, Kathy McDonald Eller; two sisters; two brothers; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. A celebration of Mrs. McDonald’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service at 2:00 on Thursday, July 14, 2011 with Reverend Raymond Coffey and Reverend Mike Minton officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Hunsucker, Jason McDonald, Tobey McDonald, Will Kirby, Jordan Wingler, and Barry McDonald. Paul Minton will serve as honorary pallbearer. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the service on Thursday.
