Greenville, SC- Mr. Jessie Stewart Crane, age 76, formerly of Lenoir, NC, died Monday, February 18, 2008 in Greenville, SC. Born February 2, 1932 in Caldwell County, NC, Mr. Crane was a son of the late Furches and Grace Gilbert Crane. Mr. Crane was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving in the 101st Airborne Division during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Edith W. Lackey, one brother, William Hewey Crane and wife Margie of Hudson and 12 step-children, Willard Taylor of Hickory, NC; Florence Curlly of Jacksonville, FL; Fred Taylor of Alabama; Faye Brown of Greenville, SC; Guy Taylor of Easley, SC; Linda Taylor of Jacksonville, FL; Theresa McFadden of Jacksonville, FL; Delaine Taylor of Greenville, SC; Elaine Taylor of Ragland, AL; James Lee of Lenoir, NC; Marylin Harden of Macon and Charles Lackey of Granite Falls and 4 nephews and 1 niece of Lenoir, NC. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Madalyn Crane and a brother, James Dewey Crane. A celebration of Mr. Crane?s life will be conducted 3:00 PM Sunday, February 24, 2008 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service of Lenoir with Reverend Ernest Bowes officiating.
