Jesse James Colvard

Jesse James Colvard, age 91 of Lenoir, North Carolina passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2023. Jesse was born on May 30, 1932 to the late Robert Esley Colvard and Ella Icenhour Colvard. Jessie was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed gardening and working on cars. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Colvard; four brothers, Carson Colvard, Bill Colvard, John Colvard, and Howard Colvard; six sisters, Grace Colvard, Dorothy Hatton, Virginia Nelson, Betty Beaver, Margaret and Minnie Colvard. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Helen Darlene Colvard; sons, James and Christopher Allen Colvard; daughter, April Vecchio; sister, Peggy Bollinger; five grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special cousin Henry Pitts. A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, July 2, 2023 at Blue Ridge Memorial Park in Lenoir with Pastor Gary Shew officiating. The family respectfully requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Caldwell Amorem Hospice at 526 Pine Mountain Rd, Hudson, NC 28638.
