Boomer, NC- Jerry Steveson Keller, age 62, of Boomer, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2011 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson surrounded by his family and friends. Born July 14, 1949 in Wilkes County, Jerry was a son of Jack Stevenson Keller and the late Mabel Triplett Keller. After being told of his illness, Jerry refused treatment and spent what time he had preaching and witnessing to others about the love and saving grace of Jesus Christ. He was a preacher and had traveled all over giving his testimony to others. He loved spending time with his family and friends and enjoyed deer hunting. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jenny Keller. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Hatton Keller of the home; siblings, Patricia Triplett and husband Charlie of Lenoir; Dorathy Triplett and husband Ed of Ferguson; Brenda Clement and husband Roger of Statesville; Wayne Keller and wife Patty of Lenoir; Vance Keller of Lenoir; Jeff Keller and wife Bonnie of Ohio; Tracy Keller of Lenoir and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at Community Baptist Church with Pastor Waitsel Beard, Pastor Bobby Pritchard and Evangelist Jim Wyatt. Burial will follow in Livingston Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, prior to the service from 1:00 until 3:00 PM at the Church.
