Lenoir, NC- Mr. Jerry Thomas Huffman, age 70, of Lenoir, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at the Caldwell Hospice & Palliative Care Center in Lenoir. Born May 4, 1940 in Caldwell County, Jerry was a son of Pauline Clark Huffman and the late Lewis Vonley Huffman. He was Baptist by faith. He was self employed as the owner and operator of the Huffman Trucking Company. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Andy, Wesley, and Danny Ray Huffman. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife Violet Huffman of the home; a son and daughter in law, Tracy and Kim Huffman; granddaughter, Emily Huffman; stepson and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Candy Clark; grandson, Daniel Clark; and granddaughter, Erica Ware;  he is also survived by numerous other relatives. Mr. Huffman is also survived by his special companion, his dog Champ. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Diane Trivette for all her special care and attention to Mr. Huffman. A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service at 2:00 PM. Officiating will be Reverend Jim Hamby, Reverend Norman Sherwood, and Reverend Tony Goins. Interment will follow the service in the Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Wednesday at the funeral home from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service.
