Jerry Alan Harrison

Lenoir – Jerry Alan Harrison, age 66, of Lenoir, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.Born November 12, 1947 in Caldwell County, he was a son of the late Elbert John and Edith Viola Townsend Harrison. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by three sisters,Catherine Arnett, Rita Harrison Patterson and Evelyn Hilton. Jerry was a member of College Avenue Baptist Church and retired from Bernhardt Furniture after 37 years of service.He was very artistic and loved wrestling.Jerry will always be remembered for loving the outdoors and his willingness to help others. He is survived by 4 brothers, John Harrison and wife Barbara of Kings Creek; Eddie Harrison and wife Theresa of Lenoir; Kenneth Harrison and wife Sandy of Cleveland, TN; Frank Harrison of Hudson; 4 Sisters, Betty Helton and husband Chuck of Lenoir; Hilda Powell of Lenoir; Dianne Rabon and Cheri Greer, both of Florida and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held 2:00 PM Monday, September 15, 2014 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend Rick Bowman officiating.Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM, one hour prior to the service.
