Jerry Bobby Blevins

Lenoir, NC- Mr. Jerry Bobby “Bob” Blevins, age 61, of Lenoir, passed away on Saturday, November 03, 2012 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital surrounded by friends and family. Born August 30, 1951 in Burke County, Bob was a son of the late J.B. and Mary Ellen Smart Blevins. He was a member of the People’s Tabernacle Church where he was an associate minister. He was self employed and operated his own cleaning business. Bob enjoyed fishing, camping and cooking. He enjoyed spending time with his grandson Seth, who was the light of his life. He was proud to be an organ donor. Even though he didn’t have kids of his own, he was considered a father by many. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Blevins Correll; and a granddaughter, Rebekah Renee Reece. Survivors include his wife, Lori Blevins of the Home; a step daughter, Rachel Reece, husband Ethan, of Gamewell; two grandchildren, Seth Alexander Grant of the home and Rinoa Renee Reece of Gamewell; two sisters, Sandra B. Petro of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Janice Blevins Brackett, husband Jerry, of Whitnel; a brother Matthew William “Bill” Blevins of Whitnel; a special nephew, Josh Blevins and also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend William Dykes officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to the Seth Grant College Fund, C/O Lori Blevins at P.O.
