Jerold Roy Brewer

Lenoir- Jerold Roy Brewer, age 81, fell asleep in death on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Caldwell UNC Healthcare. He was born in Miami, Ohio on February 17, 1937 to the late Byron and Clara Davis Brewer. He was married to Wilma Reeder Brewer of the home for more than 61 years. Jerold was a tool and die maker for more than 50 years and retired from Hunt Manufacturing in Statesville. He was an active member of Resurrection Hope Church of God. He recently was awarded Elder Emeritus for his years of service at the church. He loved to fish, camp and travelled in more than 30 states and two countries. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David A. Brewer. Other than his wife, Jerold is survived by his children, Bill Brewer and wife, Reba; Marie Wood and husband, Kenneth; Sheila Swallows and husband, Donald; Eric Brewer; grandchildren, Mary Downing and husband, Greg; Albert Brewer; Wayne Trexler and Ashley; John Beavers and wife, Krista; Amelia Skelton and husband, Chuck; and great-grandchildren, Isaac and Linus Downing. A memorial service for Jerold will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Resurrection Hope Church of God at 3:00 PM with Pastor Michael Medlock and Pastor James D. Ritch officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall.
