Lenoir, NC- Jeanne M. McClure has passed on to join her beloved husband in peace & happiness. Jeanne was born and raised in Washington DC and married her West Point sweetheart. Raising 6 children during their 45 years of marriage, she and Dick served 28 years in the Air Force and were stationed at 8 different bases, leaving their endearing mark on many people when they moved on to their next assignment. After retirement, they made their home in Shalimar, FL. Recently, Jeanne relocated to North Carolina to be closer to more of her family. Now Jeanne has made her final move but her memories will live on with us. Jeanne is survived by her children and their spouses: Meme and Tom Nelson, Rita DeSimone, Jody and Bobby Shook, Richard McClure, and Kelly and NT Cosby. Her grandchildren: Terri Heilman, Tory & Samantha Nelson, Chris Shook, Justin Shockley, Erin McClure, Lexi and Rob Griffee, Shawn Shook, John Farnworth, Colin Cosby, Connor McClure, Duncan McClure and Ian McClure. Her great-grandchildren: Alex McClure, Courtney Heilman, Jake Griffee and Olivia Nelson. Her extended family: Penny & Paul Guglielmoni, Karen & Tim, Sophie, and Lucy Feagins, Christy Guglielmoni and Christian Popoli. She is predeceased by her beloved spouse, Lt. Col. Richard McClure, her eldest daughter, Jeanne McClure, her sister, Rita Murnane and her 2 brothers, Jimmy and Jack Murnane. Services will be at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola Naval Air Station, where she will be put to rest with her husband on Tuesday, October27, 2009 at 11:00 AM. The family requests memorials being made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
