Jean Martha Andrews Houlder

Jean Martha Andrews Houlder, age 90, of Lenoir, passed away Thursday, November 25, 2021 at the Shaire Center. She was born July 21, 1931 in Hartford, CT to the late Merton Clifford Andrews and Helen Woodworth Andrews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Rear Admiral Richard Hugh Houlder and daughter, Martha Lee Niland. Jean is remembered by her family and friends as one of the most loving, giving and kind people they ever knew.She lived a very full life and touched the lives of many people. Her memory will be carried on by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all those who knew her. She is survived by her son, Kenneth Hugh Houlder of Olympia, WA; daughter, Carol Jean Mathews and husband Scott of Lenoir, NC; son-in-law, Gary Niland of Mt. Airy, NC; four cherished grandchildren Michelle Galster of Los Angeles, CA, Patrick Niland of Wingate, NC, Jessica Templeman of Midlothian, VA, and Victoria Hostetter of Lititz, PA; great-grandchildren Avery Galster, Connor Niland, Carson Templeman, Sawyer Templeman, and Harrison Hostetter.
