Jean Bryant Adkins

Lenoir – Mrs. Jean Bryant Adkins, age 70, of Lenoir, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Springs of Catawba in Hickory.Born April 13, 1944 in Caldwell County, she was a daughter of the late Junie Adam and Mary Setzer Bryant and the wife of the late Billy Ray Adkins. Other than her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Melanie Jean Nelson; a brother, Floyd Bryant and a sister, Beverly Coffey. She is survived by three children, Alex Nelson and wife Tammy of Gamewell; Kim Offenbacker and husband Richard of Morganton; Bradley Adkins of Gamewell; 3 sisters, Joanne Nelson of Gamewell; Linda Martin and husband Bill of Gamewell; bonnie Nelson of Lenoir; 3 brothers, Pete Bryant and wife Renee of Lenoir; Steve Bryant of Hickory; J.R. Bryant and wife Jean of Lenoir; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. A celebration of Jean’s life will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Celia Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Richard Shew officiating.
