Patterson – J.C. Triplett, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Caldwell Hospice & Palliative Care. He was born in Caldwell County on September 17, 1924 to the late Ralph Triplett and Susan Walsh Triplett. He was married to Jolene Hamby Triplett of the residence. J. C. loved baseball and he loved kids, so he spent a huge part of his life supporting the Happy Valley community’s kids. In 1971 he and Pete Bradshaw, with the support of a local civic club founded the first Little League Baseball team in the community. Kids from Buffalo to Happy Valley then had a place to play baseball. It was his mission to help the kids of Caldwell County and even went as far as to share his swimming pool for them to swim in. He will forever be remembered for the sacrifices he made to help children. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael Bruce Triplett; brother, Ralph Triplett, Jr. and his sister, Maude Triplett Young. Other than his wife, he his survived by his daughter, Sharon Lynn Triplett; brother, Alvin Triplett; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 2, 2016 at Yadkin Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Stuart White officiating.
