J.C. Sullivan

J.C. Sullivan Hudson, NC- Mr. James “J.C.” Clark Sullivan, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at his residence. He was born in Caldwell County to the late James Monroe Sullivan and Myrtle Rash Sullivan. He was married to the late Wanda McGuire Sullivan for 60 years. Mr. Sullivan was a graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne College and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He owned several businesses and served on the Bank of Granite Board of Directors. He was Vice-President and Treasurer of Hammary Manufacturing. Mr. Sullivan was a member of Harris Chapel Baptist Church where is served as Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Trustee and Sunday School Superintendent. He was a life-time member of Kiwanis Club where he received the Quiet Kiwanian Award. His proudest achievement was probably being honored with the Best Daddy in the World Award given by his children. His hobby was collecting antique cars. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Sullivan; brothers, Lee, Ben, Joe, and Howard Sullivan; sisters, Gladys Annas, Mary Lou Annas, Florence Annas, and Mildred Sullivan. He is survived by his sister, Mrs. John Alicki (Georgia); son, Jim Sullivan and wife, Dawn of Hudson; daughters, Amy Vargas of Hudson and Sally Lail and husband, Rick Eckard of Hudson; grandchildren, James Sullivan and wife, Jaime of Gastonia, NC; Joseph Sullivan and wife, Judith of Williamsburg, VA; Anna Overby and husband, Nick of Reidsville, NC; John Paul Sullivan and wife, Deidre of Cary, NC; Katy Lail of Hudson; and Caroline Niederhammer of Hudson; and great-grandchildren, Lily Sullivan, Nora Sullivan, Joseph Sullivan II, Benjamin Sullivan, and James Clark Overby. A celebration of Mr. Sullivan’s life will be held at Harris Chapel Baptist Church on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 11:00 with Pastor Allen Norrod and Pastor Ed Warren officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Mr. Sullivan’s Sunday School Class. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 prior to the service. The family respectfully requests that memorials be sent to: Harris Chapel Academy, 1444 Cajah’s Mtn.
