Jb Kirby

Mr. JB Kirby, age 72, of Lenoir, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at his home surrounded by loved ones. Born August 10, 1944 in Caldwell County, JB was the son of the late Boyden Sylvester and Callie Philyaw Kirby. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Warren Kirby; his sisters, Irene Kirby and Christine Kirby Hughes; son, Keith Edmond Kirby; and one brother, Robert Daniel Kirby. Survivors include his beloved grand-daughter, Ashley Leann Kirby; son, Jeffery Daniel Kirby of Lenoir; step children, Rebecca Rogers and husband Nichalous of Orangeburg, SC and Michael Huntley and wife Cindy of Lenoir; two sisters, Paula Carolyn Smith of Lenoir; Virginia Dare Ensley of Lenoir; and his nieces, nephews. JB’s last wish was to be remembered as a hard-working, fair and honest man. A celebration of JB’s life will be held on Monday, February 13, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the First Advent Church in Hickory with Pastor John Roller officiating. Interment will follow at the Nazareth Advent Christian Church Cemetery in Lenoir. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Caldwell Hospice, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645 or First Advent Christian Church, 1941 North Center Street, Hickory, NC 28601.
