Jay Horace Greene

Jay Greene Lenoir, NC –  Beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Jay Horace Greene passed from this earthly life on Tuesday, February 19, 2013. He was born April 27, 1934 to the late William Grady Greene and Lonnie Storie Barlow. He was preceded in death by his son, Larry Jay Greene. He is survived by his wife, Helen Wheeler Greene, and daughter Jennifer Lynne Greene; brothers, Dillard Greene and wife, Peggy; Harley Greene and wife, Betty Jo; Troy Greene and wife Margorie; and Boyd Greene and wife, Cleo. Also surviving are his treasured grandchildren, Brandy Greene Link and husband, John Link; Nickolas Greene and Benjamin and Spencer Childress. Jay was an avid outdoorsman, who loved deer hunting and trout fishing. He had a love for gardening and UNC Tarheel basketball. A celebration of Jay’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 2:00 with Pastor Paul Dula officiating. Burial will follow the service at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery in Richlands. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 prior to the service. Pallbearers will be: Nickolas Greene, Benjamin Childress, John Link, Gary Logston; Ralph Greene, Mark Greene, and Alan Greene. Honorary pallbearers will be Brandy Link and Spencer Childress, granddaughters; and all supervisors, employees and friends of Bernhardt Furniture Industries.
