On August 7, 2023 Mr. Jay Harold Curtis, faithful servant of Jesus Christ was called home to Heaven, while surrounded by his loving wife of 25 years, Joyce Miller Curtis and family.
His warm-hearted smile was always a genuinely true reflection of his love and selfless kindness for those around him.
He was born the son of the late Cloyd and Jessie Curtis on November 1, 1938 in Caldwell County, NC. In his loving family, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Patsy Gragg Curtis; daughters Neta “Sissy” Brinkley, April Curtis; brothers Cloyd Curtis Jr, Larry Curtis, Harry Curtis, Earl Curtis, Tommy Curtis; sisters Dorothy Craig, Martha “Mag” Craig, Jessie “Allene” Hartley. Survived by children, Harold Curtis (Melissa), Bobby Curtis; brother, Clarence Curtis (Betty); grandchildren, Derek Brinkley (Alison), Chris Brinkley (Ashley), Jessica Curtis-Yount (Michael); great grandchildren, Madison & Ryan Brinkley, Jackson, Mason, Trenton and Lynleigh Brinkley, Adalyn & Connor Yount. When Jay married Joyce in 1998, he became the proud father of Joyce’s children, Maria Wilson Helton (Jeff) and Eric Wilson (Laurie) and grandfather of Emma Wilson Currin (Daniel).
Visitation Saturday, August 12th @ 1pm Union Grove Baptist Church followed by Service @ 2pm with Rev Sam Craven officiating. Graveside service to follow at Cajah’s Mountain Baptist Church.
