Jason Raines

Lenoir – Jason Delano Raines, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at Caldwell UNC Health. He was born in Montgomery, AL on December 4, 1933 to the late Jason and Laura Raines. He was married to Carolyn Stemples Raines of the residence for 53 years. Jason was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and worked in the insurance industry for several years. He was an avid reader and writer about politics and he was a devoted fan and alumni of Auburn University. He loved his country. Jason was an active member of Lenoir Presbyterian Church. He also worked for Lowes Hardware in sales. Jason will be remembered for being honorable, gentle, kind, patient and a wonderful husband and father. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Ford and his grandson, Jason Daniel Raines. Other than his wife, Jason is survived by his children, Jon Raines and wife, Gina; Jason Raines and wife, Nancy; and Jennifer Raines; grandchildren, Hanna Raines and Emma Raines; sister, Virginia; and other family members. A graveside service celebrating Jason’s life will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Park on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Rob Hinman officiating.
