Lenoir, NC- Mr. Jason Lee Knopp, age 53, of Lenoir, died Sunday, February 25, 2007 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital. Born December 13, 1953 in Hemet, California, Mr. Knopp was a son of the late Vannona Ruth Homan Knopp of Hemet and the Grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jason Cecil Homan. Mr. Knopp was a retired corrections officer from the state of California. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was Native American of the Blackfoot and Apache tribes. He loved fishing and the market where he was nicknamed "The Popcorn Man." He considered his friends to be his family, they are; Mr. James Huffman, Mrs. Mary Huffman and Ms. Tonya Clark with whom he resided in Lenoir and Mr. Bill Starnes and Mrs. Donna Starnes and family of Hudson, FL. There will be no services, as he wished to be remembered not in death, but in life.
