Janice Prestwood

Hudson – Janice P. Prestwood went home to be with her blessed Lord on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at Hickory Falls Rehabilitation. Born May 1, 1940 in Caldwell County, Mrs. Prestwood was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Stella Parker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Prestwood; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Boyd and Mildred Prestwood; sisters, Mildred Parker; Doris Abernathy and Norma Nelson; brothers, Ralph Parker and Dean Parker. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Crystal Lowman and husband, Curt of Granite Falls; stepdaughter, Tammy Taylor of Granite Falls; grandsons, Cody Lowman andwife, Erin of Hudson; Bryant Lowman of Granite Falls; Jacob Lowman and Mackenzi of Hudson; step-grandsons, Brit Wilkinson and Dustin Wilkinson; great-grandchildren, Evie, Ezra, Isla, Aurora and Felix; and great-granddaughter, Nora, due in November; Hayden, Addie, Keelan, Brayson and Landon; sister-in-law, Sandra Parker and many nieces, nephews, friends and church family. Mrs. Prestwood was a member of Hibriten Baptist Church and sang in the choir for many years and loved to hear Pastor Doug Cox preach the word of the Lord. She loved listening to gospel music and singing gospel music, especially with her brother and sisters before their passing. She read her Bible everyday and loved serving the Lord however she could. Mrs. Prestwood also loved sports, especially her Tarheels, Redskins, and Nascar drivers, Bill and Chase Elliot. Her family was her pride and joy, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She lit up whenever they were near. A graveside service celebrating the life of Mrs. Prestwood will be at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens on Monday, July 6, 2020 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Doug Cox officiating. Pallbearers will be Cody, Jacob and Curt Lowman and Larry Nelson. Bryant Lowman will be an honorary pallbearer.
