James Myron Williams

Granite Falls, NC ? Mr. James Myron Williams, age 70, of Granite Falls, went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 13, 2010 at his residence. Born May 29, 1939, James was a son of the late Charles and Edith Williams. James was a member of the Bethel Wesleyan Church. He worked 32 years for General Motors, and after retiring he helped his son at Sicily?s Pizza for 20 years. James enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his children & grandchildren. He loved his church and was looking forward to the birth of his first great grandson, Benjamin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by numerous brothers & sisters. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Lorraine Williams of Granite Falls; two daughters and a son in law, Sherry Cox Hodges, husband Claude, of Lenoir, and Lindee Williams Perez of Granite Falls; one son and daughter in law, James and Jodi Williams of Blairsville, GA; one sister, Maxine Lason of Burton, MI; two brothers, Charles Williams of Davison, MI and Walt Williams of Flint, MI; four grand children, Valerie and Ryan Hoffmann of Granite Falls, Courtney and Jason Lankford of Lenoir, and Dylan Williams and Hannah Mae Williams of Blairsville, GA; he is also survived by many friends, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A celebration of James? life will be held on Friday, April 16, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Bethel Wesleyan Church. Officiating will be Reverend David Shrum. Interment will follow in the Bethel Wesleyan Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Evans Funeral Service & Crematory on Thursday, April 15, 2010 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Bethel Wesleyan Church at 1616 Wilkes Grove Road, Hickory, NC 28602.
