James Alan Wyatt Watson passed away at Caldwell Memorial on February 14, 2022 after a short illness.He was born in Lenoir on July 17, 1958.He is survived by his sisters Sherry Watson (Gene), Linda Watson (Wade), by his niece Jessica (Doug) and daughter Rebekah, his nephew Jacob (Leah) and children J.J., Addie, Waylon and Rudy.He was pre-deceased by his parents Mary and James Watson and grandmother Jessie Benfield. James will be missed very much by his family and friends. James was a gentle soul who enjoyed reading and watching classic movies.He was very smart and in fifth grade won first prize in a regional spelling bee.He attended New Horizon’s “Clubhouse” in Lenoir and had many friends there – it was his second family.James enjoyed all the activities they offered including going to the movies, bowling, fishing and trips to the beach. Grace was a special friend to James and he loved her with all his heart – she made him very happy. We would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Caldwell Memorial for taking care of our brother – special thanks to Dr. Young. The family will have a Gathering of Friends on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at 3:00 pm until 3:45 pm at the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service. The burial will follow immediately after the Gathering of Friends at Bethel Advent Christian Church Cemetery. The family politely requests that all of those who attend would wear facial coverings and social distance.
