James William Kincaid

August 4, 1922 — February 25, 2006

Lenoir, NC- Mr. James William “J.W.” Kincaid, age 83, of 318 Main Street, NW, died Saturday, February 25, 2006. A native of Caldwell County, Mr. Kincaid was a son of the late James Curlee and Callie Estes Kincaid and the wife of Mrs. Mary Frances Smith Kincaid. Mr. Kincaid was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church and served in the United States Army Air Corp. He was a 1942 graduate of Collettsville High School. He retired from the Durham Life Insurance Company and in 1985 became a part-time employee with his son-in-law, Wally, at Crump Insurance Agency of Lenoir. Mr. Kincaid enjoyed gardening, feeding the pigeons and spending a lot of time with his family. Surviving other than his wife are two daughters; Sandy Crump and her husband Wally of Lenoir, Maria Klein and her husband Wayne of Lenoir; one son, Phillip Kincaid and his wife Debbie of Bogart, GA; one sister, Joyce Whitener and husband Joe of Conover; 6 granddaughters, Heather Martin and husband Stephen of Lenoir, Jennifer Kincaid of Washington, DC, Sarah Kincaid of Bogart, GA, Jessica Klein of Emerald Isle, NC, Bethany Klein of Morganton, Katherine Kincaid of Bogart, GA, two grandsons, Jason Klein of Newton, J.W. Crump of Winston-Salem and one great-grandson, Jackson William Martin. Preceding him in death other than his parents are three sisters, Christine Houck, Jessie Sherrill, Mary Penley and one brother, William Kincaid. Pallbearers for Mr. Kincaid will be Wally Crump, Wayne Klein, Stephen Martin, Jason Klein, J.W. Crump and Daniel Griffee. A celebration of life service for Mr. Kincaid will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 27, 2006 at Trinity United Methodist Church by Reverend James W. Hamby and Reverend Joyce Bunn. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Park with military honors. The family will receive friends at Trinity United Methodist Church from 10 until 11 prior to the service on Monday and at other times at the home of Sandy and Wally Crump, 518 Viewmont St., NE, Lenoir.
