James Taylor

Granite Falls – James “Moon” Daniel Taylor, age 67, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Caldwell Hospice. He was born in Columbia, SC on June 26, 1947 to the late L. Deck Taylor and Bettie Waddell Taylor. Moon was a veteran of the United States Army and also considered himself a veteran of 25 years with Little Caesar’s, where he was called upon to provide maintenance service for several stores across the area. He served as the Chaplain of the Hickory VFW. He was a huge Tarheel fan and enjoyed Wilson’s Creek. Moon had a wide circle of friends with whom he loved spending time. Moon is survived by his three sisters and their husbands, Judith and Henry Cahoon; Anne and David Donovan and Mary and William Bentley. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Hudson on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Mack Jarvis officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the service. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to Caldwell Hospice, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
