James Albert Eller

James Albert Eller, 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Amorem – Burke. He was born in Caldwell County on September 21, 1935, to the late Arvil and Lola Eller.

He was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. James was light-hearted, sincere with a happy nature towards people and life in general. His grandchildren brought him profound pride and happiness.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dottie Eller; brothers, Herman, Butch and Bobby Lee Eller; sister, Merle Eller Stern; brother-in-law, Dewey Phillips; life-long best friends, Tommy and Lynn Miller; and special friend, Stella Land.

James is survived by his daughter, Jameia Branch and husband, Dale; grandchildren, Caleb James Branch and wife, Miriam and their son, Cayden James Branch; Alexis Branch Henley and husband, Will; sister, Deana Tolbert; god-daughter, Debbie Dittman and husband, Thom; faithful companion, Liz Henley; and numerous friends and other family members.

A time of honor and remembrance of James’ life will be held in the Chapel at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens on Monday, February 10, 2025, at 12:00 Noon.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorials be sent to the Caldwell County Education Foundation, 1914 Hickory Blvd, SW, Lenoir, NC 28645.
